Welcome back to another Book of the Week issue. It's been long time since a book review and so here we go. Like I said here, we were working on FABRICs theme as a part of our homeschooling adventures and hence we were reading many books related to fabrics and clothing.
Today we're gonna share with you a wonderful book from the very popular Maisy series – Maisy Dresses Up by Lucy Cousins.

Today we're gonna share with you a wonderful book from the very popular Maisy series – Maisy Dresses Up by Lucy Cousins.
The Book:
- Very simple, crisp and neat book. Maisy is going for a party- not a Bday party but a fancy dress party. So, she is thinking which dress to chose and finally she is ending up with a great idea.
- Not too much of text - text on the left side and graphic on right side makes the book less clutter for little tots to follow easily.
- Nice drawings- funny yet attractive for little ones
- Lightweight - These days, we are not very particular about picking board books since Liya is grown enough to handle non-board book versions, we were okay with it.
- Nice idea - Liya learned that there can be many different parties- especially something like a fancy dress party. So, we are eagerly looking forward to Paijama Party she is gonna attend in her school, on coming friday night.
- Learning about a few costumes which Maisy's friends chose for the party
- Would be ideal for 3+
Now Liya wants me to buy all Maisy books for her. Hmm.. now you know how much she loved Maisy. In last one week, least 3 times a day, I have read this book for her.
My girls love Maisy
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Maisy books for children. :) I will have to get this one for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of that series in our local bookstore. will try to search for me. thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteThese type of magazine involves so many things like Fancy dress parties that characters did, that makes kids aware of it.As Fancy dress competition for kids get the chance to wear such kind of dresses and kids inspire from these magazines to apply some different in their dresses.

Hey Nish..I loved your blog..really informative...I am a working mother and my son is 5.5 yrs old..he is in Senior KG and goes to the school Sloka. I am looking for a good day care (where he can have a meaningful creative day-time well spent) for him for the two months (summer vacation) May-June...Since you have done quite a bit of research in this area, could you suggest me any good day care for him in the Hi-Tech city area (kondapur, Gachibowli) should be fine...
