It is very interesting to observe Liya and how she learns new things everyday. I am sure this would be the case with every parent. The way kids associate things are really amazing. Months back, when we were in Hyd, she got to see lots of pet dogs walking through the road. She loved to look at them from balcony, and since then she started linking any creature other than human being as 'baabow'. When she got to see hen, goat, cats etc from our home in Kerala, she love to run behind them saying .. 'baabow..:)

Liya and Ayan
Liya got a friend here in Buffalo- Ayan. He is a month younger to her, belongs to Hyderabad and lives in the same community where we stay. Both are happy to be together...
We get together almost all weekends. It is fun watching both of them together. He is a typical boy character, doesn't like toys much....turn his head if you give him a doll... his main job is jumping over sofa.. chair.. taking keys out from laptops..etc etc.. Liya loves toys but not all of them. There are lots of toys she didn't even want to see. But if Ayan takes them in his hands (out of curiosity as he sees something new) she comes running with her 'big' eyes bulging out (in anger), with her hands waving and shaking her head (to show her objection) and pulls the toy from his hand and keep it in a safer place (mostly her pappa's lap).

Dancing doll..
Liya has been quite selective and stubborn in many things she comes across. The main thing is songs. She loves listening to songs so much..I have downloaded lots of rhymes for her. Apart from rhymes she loves few Malayalam film songs too.
She doesn't like all the songs. She bangs on the laptop to show her hatred or waves her hands in a refusing manner, which indicates that we should change the song immediately.

Liya gets new books!
It's been long since I started searching for few good books for Liya. Yes, I know it is not yet the time for her to read or write. But I believe that early baby books play a part in building their curiosity and interest towards books. I do not like her sitting in front of TV. So absolutely no TV shows for her including kids channels. I have seen debates going on saying few channels/programs are good for children. But there are lot of researches proving that watching TV/Computer makes kids (especially below 3) inactive and badly affects their concentration level too. But yes, she watches rhymes etc in my laptop, but not more than half an hour in a day.

First hair styling..!
Liya had her head baring many times in a years time. As I mentioned earlier, the first one was precisely on 7th day of her birth, according to Islamic teaching. She doesn't have a dense strong hair pattern. It is kinda of sparse and feeble. I have done quite lot of experiments on her hair, to make it lustrous and bushy- but did not succeed so far. In rural India, it is a common belief that if you shave off baby's hair it grows thicker, but there is no scientific evidence to support this OR no doctors agree to this myth either.
